Dark Urge

A Wood Elf druid, Haastal's mother fled her Circle when Haastal was an infant due to Shadow Druids taking over the Circle. The two elves came to live in Baldur's Gate, where Haastal's mother tried to give him as normal a life as she could, teaching him to love the natural order of things, unknowingly contrasting the dark Urges that whispered in her son's ear. Haastal developed a great love for animals, however, he views mortal beings in a much darker light, his dark butler- the gift from his father Bhaal, influencing the young druid to kill over and over until killing became second nature.
