The elusive man in black and white, armed with two guns strapped to his belt. The sight of white monarch butterflies means he is nearby.. and death is imminent. Someone is going to die soon, and you won't know until it's too late.
Burial is a local deity, the embodiment of Death. As cryptic and mysterious as he is, standing around him is enough to make one feel safe. He only chooses to physically reveal himself to those who have walked alongside death far too many times. There are very rare instances where he will prevent something from dying out of pity.

• it's pretty obvious what inspired burial, but i've indulgently made him tied to purépecha and aztec beliefs of butterflies being the souls of those who have passed. he is also my way of coping with recent deaths in my life.
• he had never actively interacted with people until south and maeve came along. as stoic as he is, burial is curious and tends to show up when music is involved or when aid is needed.
• his outfit is a very long charro suit. the patterns are supposed to be embroidered plants. the cigarettes he smokes are the essence of wilted or dead flowers people leave at gravesites!
• he doesn't talk, but if he did, it would almost exclusively be in spanish. he was an immigrant in his past life and didn't speak english. he does understand it, however.
