Hartley is a viscet with a lot of love in her heart. She’s steadfast in her beliefs and strong in her spirit. She is extremely charismatic, and while she could use that to her advantage, she mostly uses it to the advantage of others instead. She’s extremely stubborn to a fault, but that’s not always such a bad thing. She cares for others greatly and tends to be extremely trusting. Her heart is broken easily, but it never shows. She always appears strong as a lion. She can come across as a little snarky sometimes, but generally, she’s gentle in speech.

She grew up with two, seemingly loving, parents who always accepted and cared for her, but in her early teens when her brother Cain was born she began to learn they were not so perfect after all. The same father who had cared for her shunned her little brother, and her mother grew distant. Cold. Abusive to the young viscling. But Hartley didn't believe the accusation-- that her brother was a child of the devil and a bad omen-- and in the end, took him away from their mother to try to protect him. He ended up leaving her in his mid-teens, still dealing with his mental issues. She wandered aimlessly until eventually she found herself in the city where she met Ezekiel. her dream had been to live on the ocean, for the longest time, but after she grows an attachment to both him and his motley crew of visclings, she moves on from that dream and settles into life with Ezekiel-- with whom she falls in love and has a daughter with-- Pearl. She's very protective of Pearl, as there were a lot of complications with her "birth."
