Profile

Ines is the bold manager of affairs between the Palais Memronia and Fortress of Meropide. A former inmate of the Fortress, she has dramatically turned her life around.

Sharp-tongued and toughened by a difficult life, Ines is stubborn and lazy, but surprisingly motivated to work when presented with an issue of "true" justice. She is mischievous yet friendly, easily making allies and never leaving them hanging.

Orphaned at a young age, Ines was only four when her older brother murdered their adoptive parents. She drifted between homes and labeled a problem child, eventually arrested for attacking her younger sisters' assaulter. Reuniting with her brother while in the Fortress, she served her sentence and earned her job through Wriothesley.

Profile

Introduction

I spent countless years cursing the divine and authority of Fontaine, because I felt as if I was neglected by them. So now I must do so much work to help people like me in the Fortress find peace like how my brother helped me do.

I received this vision not when I was struggling to survive or serving my sentence in the Fortress, but when I began to help people. But I don't need the divine to tell me what to do. I'll continue to do this because my heart knows it's the right thing to do.

Personality

Ines has grown into a strong, bold lady after the hardships she has faced. It's made her into that spunky little blaze, and now she can help people just like her.

The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.

Appearance

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

Character Stories

Character Details

It is said that those who served time in the Fortress of Meropide cannot bring themselves to return to the overworld. Ines seems to be a stark contrast, spending weeks in Fontaine's sunny streets and comfortable returning to the Fortress without more than a blink. As manager of the Palais and Fortress' affairs, Ines sees many criminals and their stories, making it her mission for them to find peace in themselves.

Story 1

Orphaned at a young age, "Josette" was the youngest of an adoptive family. At the mere age of 4, her older brother Wriothesley murdered their parents after discovering their exploitation of their children. Witnessing the spectacle that was made of her brother's case and being thrown around countless families without consideration for her needs, she grew hateful of her nation's so-called justice and authority.

Story 2

"Josette" was arrested at 18 years old. When a wealthy man attempted to sexually assault her younger siblings she'd grown to protect over the years and then demanded her instead, she had beaten him so severely that the man was nearly dead by the time the Gardes dragged her off of him. Charged with assault and past thievery, Ines chose a new name for herself from the newspaper and shocked the nation with a passionate rant about the failure of Fontaine's justice for people like her.

Story 3

Ines was shocked when entering the Fortress to learn the Warden of the prison was the brother who'd been arrested 14 years ago. Under Wriothesley's protection, she found peace and witnessed the deliverance of justice when her assaulter was brought to prison. As guards "accidentally" let slip of his crimes, the entire Fortress proceded to make his life hell. Upon finishing her sentence, Ines spent worked as a low level administrator in the Fortress. Eventually, she was given the opportunity to return to the surface to manage affairs between the Palais and Fortress. Ines became adept at moving between the two worlds, also reconnecting with her younger siblings.

Vision

Ines spent much of her life forsaken by the gods. Misfortune after misfortune, justice failed to cast its gaze upon her, and the heavens never regarded her ambition. She long hated society for its neglect of her, but under the guidance of her brother, Wriothesley, learned to find peace from her difficult past life.

In the weeks following the finality of Fontaine's prophecy, Monsieur Neuvillete asked Ines about how she viewed justice. She reflected on the justice wrought upon her assaulter and desire to bring justice to people like her. She expressed her sympathy for the suffering Lady Furina endured, and wondered about the final identity of the Hydro Archon. Ines left that room with a vision framed by four odd fangs, meeting eyes awkwardly with Monsieur Neuvillette, and hastened to immediaely show her brother.
