I.INTRODUCTION.
“Well done, soldier! Now it’s my turn.”
IOANNA stands with an intimidatingly large and tall build, but her kind and unassuming mannerisms make up for it. Quite often her dark brown eyes and brows are highly expressive, when not focused or concentrating on something. Her ears are always alert and listening, and they are adorned with a piercing on each side, usually sporting gold jewellery. Their fur, which is usually braided or brushed and held back with a hairband, is easily matted and falls around her shoulders. Shades of warm amber brown mixed with cream and chestnut colour the majority of her coat, while patches of dark grey focus around her muzzle and chest area. A healed scar rests snugly in the slope of her nose, and if you look above and past her self-assured expression a sense of tiredness seems to tug at her eyes, apparent with dark circles and some greying fur. She sports a few other (healed) scars on her arms, but nothing else of initial note when first seeing her.

Overview.
IOANNA is an overall positive and uplifting individual, her well-meaning attitude making her a great companion and quite amiable talking to most people she comes across. Unless they’re negative and disparaging, that is. It’s not like she has an excess of charisma, but she is honest and speaks her mind when the time's right-a skill that makes her more genuine than most. To those who are also of good will, she is easily identifiable-to those not, well… She is also easily identifiable, as she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve. It takes too much work to disguise his true feelings and that side of her is only truly seen on the battlefield.
She’s principled and structured in her habits and skills, years of experience and training within her concentration doing her well. This toughness at times can come off as both a good thing and a bad thing, causing her to seem either quite weathered and stagnant or strong and withstanding. It’s really a bit of both, honestly. Usually only at first glance is she ‘intimidating’, as her mannerisms speak otherwise and lend people to open up to her when comfortable. Especially within her own Path, IOANNA likes to lead as a good example, and will often help others through training and honing new skills when necessary. She doesn’t see this as something to boost her ego, rather just a somewhat altruistic way to connect with her fellow defenders of Areté.

IV.BACKGROUND.
"You really want to know?"
TL;DR.
- IOANNA was born and raised in the Polis of Areté by a pair of higher-class Plentitude path followers. GALATEA, a doctor, and SEBASTOS, a philosopher, both worshippers of Ophiuchus.
- Younger IOANNA initially was focused on getting into Order, but had too many hesitations and doubts about that path specifically and felt more personally drawn towards Conservation.
- They continue to be on more than good terms, and IOANNA feels greatly at peace and happy with the decision she was able to make and the Path she follows.
CHILDHOOD.
CHAPTER 1.
A lot of IOANNAs first memories include vivid scenes of nature, hearty meals, and the warm touch of her parents hands as she learned to walk. As a child she was taught to create from a young age, often making terrible ‘abstract art’ pieces with the help of SEBASTOS. She was and is very privileged to have such a rich and caring upbringing, being from an upper middle class family.
With intentions of IOANNA becoming a member of the Plentitude path, GALATEA and SEBASTOS enrolled her in education as soon as she turned around 8. It was very clear a few years in, though, that while receptive to the teachings, IOANNA wasn’t exactly making any great process and would much rather be out adventuring or doing physical activities. She would often chase classmates, or want to play fight with them, which while innocent, concerned the other students and made her a bit of an outcast. Her fidgety and impatient nature was at an all time high in her childhood, and it took their family unit a while to figure out what was going to be the plan of action for her. This was a stage of uncertainty for IOANNA, and some of her earliest upsetting memories are from this period in her life.
CHAPTER 2.
As she transitioned into her teenage years, IOANNA found herself coming into her own a bit more. She realised that all this energy she had pent up inside of her could be used for something good, and started training her skills in swordfighting among other things. Still, it didn’t feel right. At this point she was considering the path of Order to be her calling, but after witnessing one too many disagreements on the streets on her way back to her home she couldn’t help but feel like she wasn’t one who would always want to agree with the law. Not in a criminal way, it just seemed that the path seemed so cut and dry, so punishing, so….. Unable to question things!
IOANNA expressed these concerns to GALATEA, who suggested Conservation. After all, IOANNA had been training for a War path, and Conservation seemed to be the best of both worlds. She began to focus her efforts now onto this path, preparing to apply as soon as she was able to. For the first time, things finally felt somewhat right-or as right as you can feel as an awkward, immature teenager.

CHAPTER 3.
As IOANNA moved into adulthood, she was overjoyed to be accepted into Conservation with open arms after proving her worth. All of her training paid off! Celebrations with her family and friends to honour this new chapter in her life were joyous and exciting, and even though both of her parents didn’t exactly understand what was next for her, they tried their best to be as understanding and tolerant as they could. Little did they know, a war was upon them, and only a few years after IOANNA had begun to follow Conservation, she was sent out to protect Areté on the frontlines. It was terrifying and the first time she’d come face to face with death, causing her to not only question her mortality but what she truly was fighting for. Lucky to come back alive and forever thankful for the sacrifice of her fellow fighters and friends, she was definitely changed after the war. They held themself different, weathered in a strange, knowing sort of way. Thankful that she had made it back, both SEBASTOS and GALATEA welcomed their home to her to spend a few months recovering and processing what had just happened-while she was not drastically injured, she needed some time to process it all and was thankful for the break, even if brief. As she began to return back to normal jobs again, things looked up for her. With both her reputation as having fought in the war, and also being related to a higher class family, she found it easy to get work in guiding and escorting many individuals around the Polis safely.
IOANNA, now in her adulthood, has settled down comfortably into a nice rhythm of both work and play. She lives in a small but beautiful place not far from her childhood home, and while she does feel like things have become quite mundane she is very happy with how her life has played out so far. A part of her wishes for more, but maybe such a thing is greedy. She already has so much now, why ask for more? As her parents continue to age, she hopes she can be there for them if they are ever in need, and visits them regularly. Although her close social life is rather slow, her focus towards her work and path has been stronger than ever, and she enjoys it that way.
