Cj was born a remarkably average boy, in the average city of St. Louis, Missouri. His father left before he was even born, and his mother was a teenager when CJ was born.
Due to her working at the St. Louis zoo, much of CJ's childhood was spent at the zoo, where he became an unofficial employee before he was even a teenager himself. CJ seemed to be pretty sheltered compared to his classmates, and was always a very shy boy.
However, once he started being old enough to truly interact with the animals, a relationship blossomed. He got along incredibly well with all of them, more so than his human peers, and throughout his childhood and teenage years he started to spend more time with them than the other people his age.
When he officially started working at the zoo at 17, he met 2 other people -- Imani and Joseph. The 3 would later end up dating.
personality
Cameron James doesn't really tend to be someone who sticks out much. He keeps largely to himself, usually being around the animals at the zoo he works at. Remarkably, he seems more in tune with how the animals feel than his coworkers or other people his age. CJ has a very hard time communicating his feelings and needs to other people, especially those older than him. He only speaks if spoken to, and even then he struggles with talking about his thoughts and opinions. Because of this, he is a guy of very few words, and also very few friends. One thing CJ can talk about all the time, though, if you let him, is animals. Ask one small question about anything from a beetle to a deer, and he can list off miles of information about his best friends for hours.
