Vermell's entry into Brookwell was marked by a misunderstanding, as citizens believed his appearance made him a suitable companion for Kitt, the city cryptid. The encounter turned perilous when Kitt reacted violently, nearly costing Vermell his life.
Currently, Vermell holds a prominent position as one of the highest-earning hosts in the city's renowned host bar.
Design
Vermell's additional mantis arms, though intriguing, present both practical and impractical aspects to his daily life in Brookwell. While they add a distinctive and unique characteristic to his appearance, he finds that their functionality is limited. Hanging bags from these extra limbs becomes a practical and somewhat humorous solution to their presence.

History
Behind Vermell's charismatic and social exterior lies a secret philanthropic side. He quietly contributes to local initiatives and charities, supporting causes that aim to enhance the well-being of Brookwell's diverse inhabitants he also has an unusual affinity for adopting peculiar and non-traditional (even for brookwell) pets his aparment is filled with them. Despite their outward differences, Vermell, with his mantis appearance, and Cherrie, the red jellyfish-themed Ecume, share an unexpected bond. One stormy night, Vermell found Cherrie stranded near the red lake entrance. Seeing her vulnerability, he offered assistance, and since then, they've formed an unusual yet strong friendship. Vermell often helps Cherrie navigate the city's streets, and in return, Cherrie uses her unique ability to sense hidden things to assist Vermell in unexpected situations.

Vermell often embarks on spontaneous nighttime explorations of the city. Cole Higgins, the chief detective, once found Vermell wandering the streets during one of his nocturnal explorations. Intrigued by Vermell's unique appearance, Cole struck up a conversation. Over time, Vermell became an unofficial guide for Cole during his nighttime pursuits.
