Profile

Rhaenyra Vhalos - a wood half-elf, youngest and only daughter of a merchant family in Baldur's Gate. Besides herself, the noble house of Vhalos is entirely human, so it wasn't at all hard to figure out the circumstances of her birth. Enraged at his wife's betrayal, the late duke punished the girl her entire life: Rhea was never permitted to leave the house, only having little company of the few servants trusted enough to be allowed to serve her, as for this great embarrassment to stay a secret. Her mother left around the time she was 11, and no one ever spoke of her again. Rhea herself learned pretty quickly not to ask too many questions.

Having little else to fight her boredom, she picked up drawing and painting, becoming a rather skilled artist by the time she turned 25. One time, an old lady telling fortunes visited the Upper City, and Rhea's older brother invited her inside to get his love fortune read. Noticing the girl's paintings, the woman traded her a necklace said to be 'enchanted by an Archfey'. With the help of the pendant, she accidentally reached into the Feywild, and received back an answer from the Seelie Court: Iggwilv offered her a deal for magic, as well as her companionship, seemingly taking pity in the poor girl. Their relationship is rather close for a warlock and patron, Rhea often thinking of her as a mother figure.

At the start of the story, Rhaenyra had just snuck out, knowing her brothers would be too drunk to notice (or care), and she was in the wrong place at the wrong time when the Nautiloid took her right off the street.
