Pearl O'Riley

Raised on a small farm, Pearl was taught that the world wouldn't wait for you to pay your debts. Her dad worked hard in the coal mines and her mother maintained the homestead, leaving her mostly to her own chore-filled devices. Her husband, Edward, was a gambling man, and wasn't very good at it. One day he declared he was going to join the Pony Express to try and earn enough to pay off his debt, make an honest man of himself.

He didn't make it 10 minutes out of town before a bullet found him. Donning his clothes, cutting her hair and riding his route, Pearl wound up taking his name and riding as Edward O'Riley. When the Pony Express went bust, she turned to bounty hunting, determined to steer clear of the bastards that killed her husband.
