When Ranras was younger, he lived in an underwater city called The Reef. There he lived in the castle, since he was born a prince. His family members were important tritons, so he was destined to be important too.
Though, unfortunately, that was not exactly correct. He did become a ruler of the seas, but not quite how you would expect.

Prince Ranras didn't like being a prince. So he got what wanted. Some pirates came along and kidnapped him. His family didn't come to his rescue, so he was left for dead.
Except, the pirates didn't want to kill him, so they recuited Ranras. He was uncertain at first, but quickly learned that he didn't have any other option. He eventually started enjoying being a pirate.
He was part of the Lord Leviathan's crew. The Lord liked him, it was special to have a triton on a pirate crew, especially a royal one. Ranras slowly but steadily climbed the social ladder, eventually becoming the Lord's second man.
This section contains many spoilers for Ranras' story. I will reveal more when the party finds out about his story. So this is just placeholder text.

When he was a teen, Ranras would use the poison of a pufferfish to get high.

Because he is based on a tropical fish, he doesn't have cold damage resistance, like most tritons do.

Instead, he has resistance to poison damage.

He is NOT a lightweight, this man drinks so so so much and rarely gets drunk.

He should probably drink less.

He secretly really enjoys singing (especially shanties).
Just a regular sea gull. Ranras once found him and just decided to keep him. He tried to teach him to steal things for him. But overestimated Gilbert's intelligence. He can steal things, it's just that Ranras has no control over it, at all. He is a menace to society. We love Gilbert.
Wolf is Ranras' ex. We don't talk about him anymore.
