Overview
Jett likes to introduce himself by saying, "I'm like a plane, but faster, and cooler." He's known to be very full of himself and rude, often picking fights even with people he considers his friends, though there aren't many who have that title. Despite how he acts around his peers, he has a soft spot for his little sister. He's the reason she's so spoiled -- he practically raised her. Jett is romantically involved with Miles, though their relationship is very complicated, and from an outside view, almost entirely physical.

Jett has a resting bitch face, only it's more of an active bitch face. He rarely smiles, always pissed off for no reaason and making unnecessary comments that do nothing but make other people upset. People don't tend to stick around him very long for this reason. However, his demeanor is entirely caused by the walls he's put up around himself. Once these walls start to come down, he can be really thoughtful and sweet. He goes out of his way to do things for people he loves. It just... takes a while to get there.
Story
Jett is part of Dreamland, a larger story involving an "accidental" murder that unravels dark secrets about the city in which it takes place. He's Zinnia's ex boyfriend, with the relationship ending on mutual terms, although it was still messy and there are a few hard feelings. The two of them were only together because of their similar family scenarios, with both of them needing to raise their younger sibling because their parents were "too busy." Truthfully, Jett never had romantic feelings for Zinnia, he just liked having the support of someone who finally understood him. Jett loves his little sister more than anything else in the world. He doesn't care about anything but her, brushing off his own life to make sure hers is alright. He doesn't want to do anything that might hurt him in the end, so he'd rather push people away before it could happen. At the end of the day, Jett is afraid.
Miles ♡
While Jett is attending college, he continues to live at home in order to take care of his 12 year old sister, Jackie. He does everything for her -- taking her to school every day, bringing her to the mall with him when he goes to work, cooking all her meals for her and buying her whatever she wants. She's extremely spoiled and he knows it, but she's his entire world, so it's what she deserves.
After his relationship with Zinnia ended, he lost just about all of his friends. He didn't seem to care all that much, and he'd grown used to being by himself, despite how constantly pissed off he seemed. This changed after re-meeting Miles at a party. Jett picked a fight with him, but Miles refused to play along like that. The night ended with Jett getting "humbled," and the start of their relationship, though it would be weeks before Jett even admitted they were friends.
Eventually, Miles ended up wanting something more out of their relationship. He wanted to really be with Jett, having seen how loving he can be and knowing him in a way nobody ever has. Jett wasn't quite as eager. He refused to say he loved Miles unless prompted by him, and often pulled away from him in public, telling others that they're just friends when Miles felt as if they were working towards something pretty serious. To make matters worse, whenever Miles tried to talk to him about this, Jett changed the topic of conversation immediately. Truthfully, he wanted something serious with Miles too, but he held off for so long because he was terrified of what that meant. He cared about Miles like he's never cared about anyone before. Eventually, Miles would insist they talk about it after several months of them avoiding it entirely. The conversation did not go well, though. It ended with Jett accidentally saying he never wanted anything more with him, and Miles deciding that if Jett didn't want more, he didn't want any of this. So, he left.
At this moment, Jett realized he'd made a huge mistake and needed to fix it. He desperately reached out to Miles' friends for help, even though he knew most of them hated him. With their help, he was able to give Miles a proper apology and finally tell him how much he loves him, admitting how awful he's been to him and promising to be better. He did it all in front of a crowd, too, just to prove he wasn't afraid of people knowing how he felt anymore -- and even if he was, Miles was worth it.
The Kids
While Jett and Zinnia were still together, they would often take turns watching their younger siblings together. Jackie and Aster were best friends, after all, so it was nice to "share custody" of them sometimes. After they broke up, their younger siblings seemed way more upset than either of them were, so this continued. Jett and Zinnia still pass off their siblings to each other whenever they need, making their dynamic similar to a divorced couple.
Jett's softness towards his sister is carried over to any other kid her age. He's patient and kind with all of them, though he tends to talk to them like they're equals rather than talking down to them. As time goes on he becomes the guardian of choice for all of the dreamland kids, driving them around places and having big sleepovers at his house. This is especiallly true when he finds out that Cyrus, a young boy who hangs around Miles and his friends, has a terrible family life and rarely goes home. Jett immediately steps in to help, essentially adopting Cyrus and doing everything he can to make sure he's comfortable. That's his little brother. That's his son. ♡
Main College AU
In the main AU (when all the dreamland "kids" are 18/19), Jett is roommates with Eldin, Cameron, and Theo. Not much changes story-wise, but his individual relationships are altered slightly. He no longer has to watch over Jackie due to her being moved out on her own, and Cyrus is no longer in need of help, either. With only a one-year age gap between them, they're more like his peers than kids he needs to protect.
With Jules specifically being older, she understands how Jett treats Miles and really hates him for it. She makes this known, too, going out of her way to pick fights with him often. He would never actually fight with her, of course, since that's Miles' little sister and it would be extremely disrespectful. On top of that, he knows she's right about how he treats him. When Miles finally decides he's had enough and calls it off, Jules is one of the people Jett goes to for help.
Relations
Love Interest
It takes some time for Jett to admit, but Miles is the only person he's ever really loved. When their relationship is good, it's really good -- but when it's bad, it's really, really bad. Jett knows he needs to make it up to him.
Little Sister
With their mother constantly busy, Jett took it upon himself to raise Jackie and ensure she had everything she needed. She means more to him than anything, and he spoils her to an extreme degree. He would do anything for her.
Enemy / Best Friend
Emily and Jett hated each other in high school, even before he broke up with Zinnia. They constantly got into fights -- now they work together at the ice cream parlor, and they won't admit that they actually get along. Even if they argue constantly, Jett would defend her with his life.
"Brother"
Jett heard about Cyrus' situation and immediately decided to step in. He doesn't know exactly why he cares so much about this random kid, but he does. He loves him like a younger brother, or maybe a son.
Enemy / Buddy
When Jules is 19, she hates Jett with a passion, often preventing him from coming inside. When she's 12, she thinks he's really cool, always wanting to sit in the front seat with him and trying to impress him.
Roommate
Theo and Jett have a very... complicated relationship. It's brotherly, but in the way where they constantly bully each other. Jett thinks Theo is annoying. Theo thinks Jett is an asshole and that Miles can do better.
Roommate
Eldin is the oldest roommate, and the most likely to be able to beat Jett in a fight. With this position, he often has to keep Jett in line. Nevertheless, he always supports Jett and is there for him no matter what. Jett knows this and respects him. He wouldn't admit it, but Eldin is probably his favorite.
Roommate
Jett thinks Cameron is really dumb, but he means it with love. He would never pick fights with Cameron because Cameron is a big sweetheart who means no harm, and even Jett knows that.
