Pastella the Lagomorph is a friendly rabbit girl with a big heart, especially for Chao, looking after them in her own Chao Sanctuary. They are kind, sweet, caring and approachable when it comes to others, but can be somewhat shy when introducing herself to new friends. She's also hesitant to become involved in any kind of conflict.

- Pastella the Lagomorph is based on the first SONIC FORCES avatar I made, when I played the game in mid-2020. They serve as both a Sonic the Hedgehog OC and a self-insert. She had two previous designs before their current one was decided on.
- Her name was suggested by a friend of mine. "Pastella" was likely coined by making a portmanteau of pastel, like her color palette, and the name Stella, which may be a reference to their star-shaped beauty mark on the left side of her face.
- Pastella's species is labeled as a "lagomorph," which is a mammal of the order Lagomorpha, such as a rabbit, hare or a pika. This specific word choice was inspired by Max from the Sam & Max franchise.
- One of her Chao, Max, is also inspired by and named after this character, while their second Chao's name, Ruby, is a reference to the Canadian animated series, Max & Ruby.
Pastella is a former Resistance member, taking part in the Eggman War with Sonic and allies to reclaim the world from Dr. Eggman and his empire, wielding a Cube Wispon while fighting Badniks.
After the Resistance won their cause, Pastella left the team and proceeded to live a relatively peaceful life away from heroic duties and participating in intense battles.
Over time, she eventually becomes a Chao caretaker and starts her own Chao Sanctuary. Being a former Resistance member who wielded a Wispon has also made her somewhat familiar with the Wisps as well, which she's willing to help care for, if needed. When she's not working as a caretaker, they make sure to find time to spend with her friends.
Pastella's sensitive and compassionate demeanor grants her the ability to tend to every Chao's needs and empathize with them, from giving them affection, to preparing meals for them, and even teaching Chao different skills they might learn in a Chao Kindergarten classroom, such as singing and drawing.
Their prehensile ears also act as another set of arms that she can use to carry objects, including her own weight, especially if she needs to reach a high place. Being a lagomorph, she naturally has enhanced jumping abilities, but she can also use her ears to piston herself to make an exceptionally large jump. They can even perform Bounce Jumps without needing a Bounce Bracelet.
