KASASAGI

she/her

industrious | maternal | opportunistic | vain

calm, confident, a titch materialistic: kasasagi has all the traditional telltale signs of a successful businesswoman. she regards life as transactional; with every encounter, one trades a tidbit of their self in exchange for another's, and she's completely fine with it. though not deliberately manipulative, she fails to understand the wrong in using others as pawns and instead keeps an eager eye out for others that may be even the smallest morsel of benefit.

ironically, kasasagi bears a matron's mercy. she will go to great lengths to ensure that she and her flock flourish. those under her command describe her as nurturing, efficient, and generous—the tenderhearted mastermind behind a well-oiled machine. kasasagi is capable of great pity and actively keeps watch over the weak.

it's a shame, really, that this charity doesn't extend far beyond the confines of her immediate reach: kasagasi comes across as rather detached and inconsiderate of those she does not willingly choose to acquaint herself with, going as far as seeing those outside her social circle as disposable. there is, as she claims, little use in exerting energy over matters out of her control.

when her professional front is lowered, kasasagi dabbles in immature games and utterly meaningless frivolity. she gleans a sort of genuine enjoyment from thought-provoking debates, well-timed wit, and good-natured jest.

at heart, kasasagi is a visionary. she yearns for peace, for freedom, for a life ten times purer than the one she's lived. more foolishly, she wants to fly. perhaps her most selfish desire of all is the wish to make the world a better place. yet what good stems from a mere child's ambitions? the city turns dreams to worthless dross, and so she is heavily resigned; her persistent greed is a byproduct of begrudging nihility. the free will she both indulges in and extends to those nestled under her wing is naught but a jaded effigy.

if one cannot rise above the bastards, it is wise to join in on the fun lest you wind up plummeting to your doom—it is better to soar than it is to sink. despite her painted air of honour, equality, and dignity, kasasagi plays dirty. she lies, she cheats, and though she no longer has the need to steal, she's done plenty of other things to make up for the fact.

life is anything but fair. why the hell should she be?
