Among pirates that follow the Code of Honor, it isn't unusual to have those who "retire" being seen off amicably by their brethren-in-arms. Unfortunately for those who join the crew of the Azure Maw, Captain Kade Rodigan allows no hindrances such as "ethics" to hold him back, when one commits to his savage army, they commit to the bitter end, and his powerful control aether ensures such a fate for any crewman showing doubts about his course in life. Luckily for Devlin Vania, the crew's skilled infiltrator and demolition expert, the impossible occurred on one fateful day when a grumpy dragon who was in way over-her-head managed to capture the barbaric warlord and bring him into Guild custody, thus granting the disenfranchised Mustelan his way out. 

Unfortunately for him, he didn't get far before Bounty Hunters nabbed him as well. With the prospect of either death or rotting in a Federation prison for the rest of his life breathing down his neck, he reluctantly agreed to the one offer he was granted: Help find and capture the remaining Rodigan Pirates, and be granted amnesty by the Federation. Now as the captive/advisor to Squad 1023, he assists in the capture of his former crewmates, perhaps hoping the bumbling hunters will slip up and accidently grant him his freedom...
