NAME: Kris (Self-proclaimed), Bracken
AGE: Indeterminate; Young-adult mindset
PRONOUNS: Any/All
ORIENTATION: Under investigation?
OCCUPATION: "Employed" by The Company
BIRTHDAY: Under investigation?

BIO

Kris is an amateur, recent hire of The Company. Usually sent out with no less than a crew of three, the employee tends to have martyr-esc instincts whilst.. failing to successfully lead protection or aid to the rest of the crew. Thankfully, most have made it back it one piece, but the employee is starting to become.. increasing irritated that their attempts have been fruitless.

The employee has a deep aversion to brightly-lit rooms and flashlights, but holds an affinity for The Appartus for unknown reasons. The employee will always gravitate to fellow crewmates once the item has been removed, almost on instinct. Though amicable and almost comical, the employee becomes irritable when stared at for prolonged periods of time and has a heavy distaste for eye contact. Operates best when put in the back of the crew.

Kris is most easily persuaded or motivated by entertainment. Offering the employee items such as laser pointers, rubix cubes and toy robots leads to a more fruitful day. Operates at their most energetic when the crew is in possession of a boombox. Though more efficient when motivated by items of entertainment, they also have a tendency to hoard them within their suits leg pouch.

APPEARANCE

Kris wears, for the most part, the regularly-issued company uniform with slight changes. The suit color is more of a red tint than orange, with an attached bag hooked onto the leg of the uniform. Ripped caution tape hangs off their waist and right wrist from an unknown source. Though their visor is heavily cracked, the employee refuses to remove their helmet for proper fixing.

An underdeveloped, fledgling Bracken that sprouted too soon. Has the same texture and worrying pinhole eyes, but lacks similarities otherwise. Though they do have the flower mans infamous plant-like appendages in their genepool, they're nothing more than sprouting buds on their back. Their "hair" has a strangely feather-like feeling, and their hands are noticably sharpened to points at the fingertips. Their small tail is similarly feather-like to their hair.

THE THISTLE NEBULA; LOG 1 - OCT 17

The Company has never been more demanding. We tend to get lucky with our weekly quota, but we weren't as fortunate this time. Though we tried to make end's meet through repeated trips on 21-Offense and 61-March, we're still short. If we don't find a way to make quota before the week ends...

Claire thinks we should take a risk. She claims that if we use our remaining funds, we can make a last-ditch effort to more than double our current amount. She's hysteric. She's desperate. We all are. Still, Russ and Kirk agreed. They pleaded the case to me. I'm our captain. It's up to me to make sure that we all come out of this ordeal alive. Still, if we fail to meet our quota, we're as good as dead.

We've never attempted a moon so inherently dangerous. We're a lucky crew, after all. It's never been neccesary. Still, they're right.

Tomorrow, we land on Titan.

TITAN; LOG 2 - OCT 18

The environment is as oppressive as expected. We spent nearly the entire trip debriefing eachother on what we'd do upon arrival to minimize risk to every single part of the crew. A part of me doesn't even want to let them go today, but we lack time. I've elected myself to watch over the monitor for the duration of our trip. Claire tends to panic with the buttons, Russ loses interest easily and Kirk... would rather be collecting than tending to the computer work.

Claire and Kirk will be carrying two of our three remaining walkies. I was hesitant to let Russ go without one, but he insisted he'd be alright. Strangely enough, I trust him. He's always been the best with a weapon. The odds of our crew separating are low. Our teamwork is second to none. They depart within the next thirty minutes.

Should things go to plan, we'll be home by the 20th.

TITAN; LOG 3 - OCT 18 (CONT)

Claire was hysteric. Kirk was non-responsive. It was hard to decipher what exactly had happened through usage of the monitors. But once I'd seen the two dots connect, I knew there was nothing we could do.

Later, Kirk finally told me.

He believes the coil-head got them.

We made quota twice over, but I don't have it within me to leave yet. We still have one day left. For all they did for us, I don't have it in me to leave the body, no matter the risk. Tomorrow, I'll return Russ' body to the ship. I hope the family forgives us.

TITAN; LOG 4 - OCT 19

Morale was higher than ever today. That's what supposed tragedy does to a crew. Still, I'm happy to repeat that all four of us were safely returned to the ship today. In one piece, at that.

I didn't know what to think when Russ met me halfway through my trek into the building. I was so intent on discovering a body, I hadn't considered the other possibility that somehow, they made it. I allowed myself to be crushed so easily, and was happy to find myself incorrect. Though they've been unresponsive for the past two hours, Claire and Kirk have never been happier. They're quieter from the trauma of near-death, they believe.

Still, they're alive. Tomorrow, we return to the company with our findings and our crew in-tact. Hopefully they'll allow us a short break for Russ' recovery.

THE THISTLE NEBULA; LOG 5 - OCT 20

It's not Russ.

TRIVIA

- Kris is a fledgling, underdeveloped Bracken posing as a Company employee through the stolen suit of a dead employee. It's only through their smaller statue and lack of developed appendages that they're able to pull this off.

- They're often excited by the prospect of meeting other Brackens, but luck isn't often on their side. Other Brackens tend to avoid them.

- Kris is often sent out with a crew of no less than four. Though strangely complacent, The Company does so as a means of keeping them.. in-check in case anything were to happen.

- Not that any of their crewmates really know the origin of what Kris is. Only their first crew and The Company know that much. What you don't know can't hurt you, right?
