Appearance

James Thompson: 
James is a young man with short, dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He is shorter than most people, being at 5'3" tall at 26 years old. He has bad knees, so James uses a cane to walk that has a gold etchings inspired from Greek ionic columns. On his left middle finger is an ornate ring gifted to him by Manon.

Manon de Enfer: 
Manon is a demon from the Gluttony Circle of Hell with long brown hair and deep green eyes. They stand at 5'9" and appear to be in their late 30's physically. Their hair is tied up with a white lily and green ribbon, which James gifted him. Their butler suit is tinted green to match their Master's colors with a matching purple gem in the middle of their cravat to match the ring that James wears.

Personality

James Thompson: 
James is a pauper in prince's clothes now, calling himself a "proper thespian" now that he can actually afford to indulge in his true hobbies. James is fiercely protective of his kin and even more loyal to his friends, as he bared a false testimony in court to give Ran Mao an alibi against murder charges. He is close friends with Lau and Grelle, as they are the swinger partners of himself and Manon. James is deeply in love with his demon assistant as well.

James was a street urchin that ran a "3 Card Shuffle" card game on the side of the London roads. Meeting Calvin Rund, the CEO of Rundworks Metal and Steel Manufacturers. After Calvin Rund won three games in a row, Calvin Rund offered his butler, Manon, as a prize if James won. As a showing of Manon's talent, Calvin Rund offered to let James order Manon one thing. So, James whispered to Manon to make James win. With the order set, James won the game and Calvin Rund gave everything to James legally except for 20,000 pounds and a cottage in Switzerland. James is told by Manon afterwards that since Calvin Rund was getting on in age and with his contract almost fulfilled, Calvin ordered Manon to serve James as his final command before he scammed the demon out of his soul.

James was born with a leg disability, where the muscles never fully developed to their normal strength, so he walks with a cane or with the support of Manon to help hold him up. Manon is wholly devoted to James, as per their orders- but there is a note of personal investment as well, as Manon claimed James as "Their Mortal".

Plot

Red Butler Arc: 

Accused of being Jack the Ripper, Ciel and Sebastian tail James and Manon on one of their murders. Confronting the two, James and Manon reveal their little scheme going on, which Ciel is disgusted by. Sebastian admonishes Manon for being so lowly in their choice of souls to indulge in as well. After Grelle is revealed to be Jack the Ripper alongside Madame Red, Manon sweeps in to eat her soul, noting the fact it tastes of bitter yet heartfelt jealousy. Grelle is furious that the soul was taken from her, while Sebastian finds it amusing. Ciel makes a comment about the opportunistic nature of James and Manon, saying that they would get along well with Lau and his opium den. James, genuinely intrigued by the idea of seeing a "genuine opium den".
