Paru grew up in Crystella, a planet of magic located in the Witch Star System. She lived a peaceful life there until the Magma Emperor and his forces, the Rocarn Empire, invaded. The only thing that could defeat the Magma Emperor were the Star Stones, magic stones that mysteriously scattered to Earth. Paru volunteered to take a Shooting Star, a Crystellan space ship, to Earth to retrieve the Star Stones.

However, Paru used up almost all of her magic to get to Earth before her Shooting Star burned up and Paru lost conscious and transformed into her Familiar Form. After Paru woke up, she wandered around a city looking for the Star Stones. Then she smelled a Metal Monster, one of the Rocarn Empire's creatures. Paru followed the Metal Monster's scent to a local middle school where she met Yara, a girl chosen by a Star Stone to wield its power and transform into a magical girl. Together, Paru and Yara defeated the Metal Monster. To find the rest of the Star Stones and fight off the Rocarn Empire's forces on Earth, Yara and Paru formed Team Charm.

Paru is a very confident young woman who takes huge pride in her own magic abilities. She likes to boast about her strong knowledge and abilities in magic, even though her current condition makes her too weak to use certain amounts of magic on Earth. However, Paru doesn’t see herself as better then others, her boasting often more for herself then others. Deep down, even she knows that she’s not all powerful.

She’s a quick learner, able to pick up new information or spells with ease. This, along with her gifted talents at magic, is what made her a child prodigy in magic. However, when Paru first came to Earth, she had some trouble adjusting to its atmosphere and culture, which was mostly all new to her. Eventually, with the help of her teammates, Paru eventually adapted to life on Earth, quickly learning their culture.

Deep down, however, Paru is actually pretty insecure about her own magic abilities and her capability as a magic teacher. She often worries that if she isn’t a good enough teacher to the other members of Team Charm, they’ll fail to collect the Star Stones and the Magma Emperor will take over Earth and eventually, the universe. However, not wanting to worry or pressure them, Paru puts on a confident front to hide her true feelings from both them and herself.
