Irene was born as a kittypet, she lived with a family of twolegs along with her mother Pepper, and her twin brother Jun. When their mother passed away, Jun began sneaking out through windows, despite them strictly being indoor cats. One day Irene decided to follow after him, and ended up lost. While she was lost in the neighborhood, she met Wendy, another lost kittypet, and the two of them worked together in the wild. Soon enough the two of them found the loner group run by Vixey, and Irene became close friends with Jennie and Plum. The four of them left the group to join PondClan after Plum became close with Rosestar.
