her name is Cordy and by some ungodly means that fungi on her doesn't completely zombify her but instead randomly takes over so she's basically bipolar

her normal self is shy and panicky, while the fungi will make you regret coming to work today 

when the cordyceps is active it keeps trying to infect others

though the results are different for different creatures; some become zombies of sorts, others just die outright, some can fight it and maybe even resist. it varies a lot
