Growing up in an orphanage left Seke a rather shy and impersonal child. He didn't have many friends, though his enemies were thankfully also lacking. He fell somewhere in the middle of the food chain, and that was fine with him. From a very young age he'd been aware that he was different, and not just because he had a stronger magical aptitude than most of the other children there. No, it was thanks to the voices he could hear that no one else seemed to realize were whispering in the gentle breezes, hiding in the attic's corners, and wafting through the main rooms when everyone slept. They became Seke's friends and companions, keeping him company when no one else would.

It didn't take him long to learn that the voices were all bodiless spirits, trapped between the living world and the dead, but it didn't bother him too much. By then, Seke had started teaching himself magic out of advanced level books as best he could, and when he was at the library one day an odd fellow took note of what he was studying. Impressed, the man adopted Seke and quickly started to give the spider a much more formal education. Unith was much more of a mentor than a parent to Seke, but he was simply glad to be out of the orphanage and honing his skills. The frigid, peircing magical aura around Seke that had become more intense as his powers had grown didn't seem to bother Unith any, which was strange to Seke since it had warded off so many at the orphanage.

Known for being standoffish and quiet, many think Sekleus is arrogant and self-centered. In reality he just has a very hard time connecting with living, emotional beings thanks to the fact he didn't have much of a loving family or trusted adults growing up. It left him the rather cold, calculating person that he is now, and he's never been one to try and change himself to suit the ideals of others.

Seke is very strong-willed and self-reliant, though to the few people who actually break through his walls and try to get to know the real spider, he becomes very devoted and protective. Though he wouldn't hesitate to keep the people he cares for safe, he quietly fears the reaction that unleashing the full fury of his chilly, intense powers might cause.

• His six smaller eyes allow him to see almost perfectly in the dark, and have an eye shine at night that spooks many people who see it.
• While Seke can lift a fair amount of weight given his size, his spider body is rather delicate and limits some of the things that other people his size and age could do.
• Due to his large, strangely shaped body, lying on flat surfaces can damage his internal organs, so he sleeps in a hammock made from his webbing.
• He can speak fluent Latin after years of practice, and will sometimes speak exclusively in it just to 'play dumb' and get others to leave him alone.
