Overview

The tsukumogami of a blacksmith's hammer and is associated with the Government of Time. (He's essentially the chibi character that appears in-game.) He resides in the smithing area of Lunaliya's Citadel and is responsible for the general handling of her swords. His responsibilities within the Citadel primarily consists of smithing, repairing, and dismantling. He is bound to the smithing area of the Citadel and is unable to leave that specific area, but he doesn't particularly mind it.

He was originally nameless, but Lunaliya didn't feel right not having a name to call him by despite the integral part he plays to the Citadel and decided to start calling him Kaito.

As a spirit, he is capable of taking on any form he wants and usually takes on the form of a "pretty boy" to tease Lunaliya or otherwise takes on a form to play mischievous pranks on some of the touken danshi of the Citadel, particularly of the tantou .

Personality

Kaito is very mischievous, free-spirited, and playful, often going at his own pace. He enjoys playing pranks on the residents (and sometimes visitors) of the Citadel. While he can be rather impish, he's very passionate and serious about his work in sword handling. He treats each and every single sword with utmost care when smithing or repairing them. He refuses to cut corners and puts his all into his work, making him very reliable.

While he may have ties with the Government of Time, he isn't exactly fond of them and their methods. Nevertheless, he obeys their orders without complaint as he too wishes to put an end to the war against the Historical Revisionists as soon as possible.

Relationships

Lunaliya

Initially, Kaito was indifferent towards Lunaliya but eventually grew fond of her, especially after she decided to give him a name. He considers her a friend and enjoys her company. He finds her reactions very fun and enjoys teasing her, usually trying to break her usual public behaviour/ demeanour of politeness and formality. Kaito particularly enjoys changing his form to "pretty boys" that fits Lunaliya's tastes and saying/ doing things to get her to blush, calling it "fan service."

Mikazuki Munechika

Kaito is often doing and saying things in an attempt to make Mikazuki jealous of him (ex. deliberately clinging onto Lunaliya whenever he's nearby). It isn't that Kaito dislikes him, but rather, he wants to see if he can get a rise out of Mikazuki who's usually so laidback and carefree. For the most part, Mikazuki doesn't fall for Kaito's provocations, merely playing along, much to Kaito's chagrin. That isn't to say that his words/ actions have no effect though. While Mikazuki may not outwardly show if Kaito does something to upset or annoy him, he may retaliate in a subtle manner which Kaito seems to take great pride in at having pulled a reaction from him.

Tsurumaru Kuninaga

Kaito and Tsurumaru get along extremely well, especially with the way they enjoy surprising others. They're good friends, and of all the touken danshi at Lunaliya's Citadel, Kaito feels the closest to Tsurumaru. They're usually seen plotting pranks together.
