Bernardo Fernández

Bernardo is a few things. Half bear and half bull, very large, an ex-gangster, and not much of a conversationalist. Almost 7 feet tall and three-hundred pounds of muscle, with lethal-looking horns, sharp teeth, claws, a deep, growling voice, and hooves that can kick a dent in a solid steel wall, he is, as many have described him, a little "scary".

He doesn't talk about his past very much, and is quite determined to leave it behind. This is more of a challenge than he'd like, and he stands out amongst others no matter how much he tries to avoid drawing attention to himself. His enormous stature and build doesn't do him any favors, and his bizarre hybrid species draws more than a few stares a week on top of that. He's very well-controlled and doesn't appear to lose his temper very easily, or, if he does, he's learned how to not show it. Ideally, he'd like to live a more peaceful lifestyle, but he seems to be perpetually stuck on the fringes of his sketchy background. He intimidates most people he interacts with, and his tendency to speak in a very laconic, to-the-point manner exudes icy toughness. The truth is that he's a little shy. All in all, Bernardo works hard at self-improvement. He kicked his smoking habit, doesn't drink, likes reading, and is a pretty good bass guitar player.

He's currently trying to get into construction work, finding his job as a bouncer a little too close to his previous lifestyle, except his boss keeps begging and bribing him to stay- he's never had a bouncer who can keep trouble out with just a stare and nothing else. For whatever reason, a local tennis-playing girl has become bizarrely fixated on him and expresses her crush through relentlessly pestering him and appointing herself his friend, apparently not even slightly intimidated by him. He doesn't appear to reciprocate her crush at all, but for whatever reason, tolerates her. Or maybe he actually sees her as a friend.
