- mandibles arent sigil, they are chitinous with two prehensile digits at the end, one at jaw joint (splits into two), spikes along upper rim. the sensory hair beard forms along the front exterior and flank of the mandibles giving a muttonchops appearance. sensory antennae extend from it, which terminate in peacock feather like teardrop ends, all hanging downwards from the mandibles
