Skipper has a chunky build and medium grey fur that fades to black on his long tail. He sports a circular white mask attached to his head by a thick brown band. The mask has small black eyes, bright pink cheeks, and a red smiling mouth. He also wears a yellow long-sleeved t-shirt with a few red stripes and a red sort of ruff around his neck. His eyes under his mask are slightly different colours, one being red and the other pink.

Skipper is fairly lighthearted and it takes a lot to bother him. He doesn't talk much of his past, enjoying being shrouded in mystery. He can be a little lethargic, but he's capable of being quite agile when he needs to be.

Skipper, along with his siblings Ripper, Flipper and Tripper, ran away from their mother as a kitten. The three were found by a mysterious group appearing to run some sort of business. Their boss took them in, and Skipper asked if they could help him and his siblings hide from their mum - although it was unlikely that she would come looking for them. Each of the young cats was then given a mask and costume, so their mother would be less likely to recognise them.

When they were older, Ripper, Flipper and Tripper left to make their own way in the world. Skipper, however, stayed. He continued to help the small, admittedly suspicious business as he grew up, keeping his mask.
