Victoire "Gearbox" Retrocasualty
A charismatic time traveller from 10 years in the future. At least, that's what he'd have you believe...

Design
DESIGN NOTES:
- I have heavily stylized and simplified his tail because I'm unsure how I want to draw it. Feel free to do what you please with it so long as it remains steampunk looking! I encourage it, it might help me figure out something that sticks.
- His clock eye (the blue one) can be as detailed as you like. The bare minimum is the clock hands, and if you decide to add numbers please only use roman numerals.
- He is a CBC of Clive Dove from Professor Layton. Therefore, you can draw him in Clive's outfit. However, if you're going to draw the version with the hat, please see his secondary ref. He has various design changes between his hatless design and his design with the hat.
Physicality
TATTOOS:
PIERCINGS:
Victoire has his ears pierced. His hair usually covers his earrings, so they're optional.
- Single, standard lobe piercings on both sides. Typically does not wear anything in them.
- If you draw him wearing earrings, feel free to do whatever as long as they're small. Victoire does not wear earrings that aren't small, nor dangly earrings.
SCARS:
Victoire's most notable scar is on the end of his tail stub.
- The fires he endured before being pulled away from the accident that killed his parents left his tail so horribly burnt it had to be removed.
Combat
PREFERRED WEAPONS - rapiers, "elegant" looking weapons
Victoire tends to avoid combat, as he usually has either hired guards or the wit to worm his way out of potential encounters. However, if forced to fight, he would pick a rapier. That, or some sort of gun he built himself.
SKILLS - mechanical genius
Victoire is a very skilled inventor, and uses this to his advantage frequently. In example - he has built a functional machine gun on the spot out of slot machine parts before. He also built his own tail.
SKILLS - always lands on his feet
Victoire is a cat, after all. Combined with his mechanical wings, which allow for some gliding, Victoire will always land on his feet after a fall. The weight of his tail can sometimes throw him off afterward, though.
MOBILE FORTRESS? - final move
Victoire has access to a gigantic, mechanical fortress aptly named "The Mobile Fortress." He cannot typically access this, as it is hidden somewhere below London, but he does have it.
STRENGTHS:
- incredibly clever, good at talking his way out of fights
- good reaction time, knows when a fight is too big for him to handle & when to run
- very difficult to frustrate
WEAKNESSES:
- not very strong
- will destroy himself to destroy you, if he's mad enough
- tends to tunnel-vision on opponents he really wants gone
Personality
Victoire is a very dedicated man, if a little misguided by all the years he's spent plotting revenge. He's not going to slow down until he finally gets what he wants - justice. He is cunning, quick thinking, and very good at putting up the exact fronts he needs to further his goals.
Victoire isn't much of a person anymore outside of his drive for revenge... however, he has been known to have a genuine side, and is very sympathetic to those whos plights mirror his own - even if the two of them as people are like night and day. Those familiar with Victoire from before the incident that drove him to become the bitter, vengeance-seeking man he is today have all stated the same thing - he wasn't always like this. Some have known Victoire to be a very kind, gentle boy - always willing to lend a hand where needed. But, that's in the past... mostly.
Trivia
- Victoire is very skilled at several card games.
- Victoire's heart is mechanical! This is not relevant to his story at all, it always has been.
- He's British and goes by a French name, for some reason.

History
Victoire is a time-traveller... or so he'd like you to believe. Truthfully, the "future" from which he hails is no future at all! In reality, Victoire is a vengeance-driven inventor who had his life flipped on it's head when he lost his parents in a real time machine accident when he was 13. Ever since that day, Victoire has been planning the perfect scheme to work his way right into where he needs to be to finally exact his revenge on the corrupt officials and careless scientists who cost him so dearly... and he will have his revenge.

If you're at all familiar with the plot of Unwound Future, you know Victoire has several other characters in his story that are currently missing from my profile. The basics of it are all the same, though.
Also, don't be surprised if this code layout changes around a lot. I'm still getting a grasp of what I want where.
