Expanded analysis: Attack
Marina's ability allows for very brutal and powerful attacks. She can utilize light in its purest form to brutalize, blind and harm others in the form of energy attacks and draining their vision. She is also able to materialize hard light weaponry, and often utilizes these attacks to disrupt the enviroment around her.

She is able to erect barriers and structures to maneuver and evade attacks, and can utilize these structures to hide in plain sight. About
A Letter to Myself
My name is Marina Tsvetaeva. And I’m a weapon of war.
25 years ago, I was born to Ivan Ivan Tsvetaeva, a researcher in the development and investigation of special abilities. And I was his finest experiment. He utilized me and the ability I was born with to push the limits of ability users and explore the possibilities of artificial powers.
When I was 4, I met another child for the first time. We played. When my father found me he was furious, and took me home. He told me I was never to proceed outside without him again. He told me those outside would darken my light. He then beat me for two hours and 12 minutes. He gave me one blow for every minute that passed until the mail came.
When I was 9, I was confiscated by the military. They claimed I was too valuable an asset to not be utilized by the government. I came in handy when it was time to fight in the Great War
When I was 12, I was released from the war into custody of the government. There was a hearing to decide where I belonged. The officials decided I belonged in a military holding cell as a reserved weapon.
When I was 15, I was called in to assassinate enemies of the government. They called frequently, for years. I was their favorite toy.
When I was 19, I took an opportunity. A chance at freedom. A man promised me the chance. All I had to do was take it, upon the agreement I would come to him when he called. I accepted.
When I was 20, I returned home. I learned my father was assassinated for his research. I’ve never been to his grave. I also learned the name of the little girl I met when I was young. Her father came home from the war, broken, and murdered his entire family before killing himself. I was forced to wander aimlessly, wondering what the point of humanity was.
When I was 23, he called. I was to help in whatever plan he was developing.
I’m 24 now. And I’m still the same monster I always was.
Trivia
- Due to the glow she sometimes gives off because of her ability, and combined with her appearance, she’s often seen as a mortal Angel. She recognizes the irony in working with the Decay of Angels.
- She was an experiment and enlisted into the War due to the potential of her ability as a weapon before being locked away following the end of the war as a military backup. She was eventually freed from being an experiment and does not take her life lightly.
- Her ability often brings her a degree of pain and frustration, having to remain in the light to operate fully and be useful to the world. She claims that because of this, her world is often bleached of color and meaning, and she seeks to rid herself of the painful radiance.
- She seeks purpose after feeling abandoned “I’ve prayed to every god I can think of. No one answered.” She wants to feel real. Like a person, not just a figure.
- Her ability leads her to be somewhat withdrawn and drained seeming, claiming light has left her world bleached and colorless. This is due to the overwhelming amount of light she absorbs. She seeks a way to release or at least shield herself from her own ability, and to allow some color and vibrancy back into her life. She joins the Rats and eventually works with the Decay of Angels as she seeks a way to carve a piece of the world out for herself, changing it in a way she might finally know true peace. She despises being seen as “angelic” often wondering why, if there is a god, he has chosen to abandon her. The big reality is the fact that she, much like Noe, never really learned how to control her ability fully, and does not know how to balance it out. Due to her long time affiliations with criminals and now the angels, she only knows how to control it’s intensive force and how to expel it, rather than protect herself and suppress it.
- She rarely smiles, generally only finding amusement in Nikolai and his antics
- She is Agnostic

Nikolai Gogol [ Partner ]
One of the few people Marina has come to call "friend" to some degree, She finds Nikolai to be a fascinating and, to some strange degree, admirable person due to his pursuit of his own happiness. She envies his quest for freedom, often feleing trapped within her own fate. However, he was the one to help teach her that such a thing was not out of her reach, should she stop living the life others ordered her to. It is because of this she finds herself able to act on her own desires and thoughts, not blindly following his or anyone elses orders. She cares for him as more than a friend, but finds it difficult to express this, as she feels it will restrict and burden his own pursuits for freedom. Despite this, he does, in fact, care for her as well in his own twisted way
