Dzifa

While the negative (or positive, depending on who you ask) qualities of the alien fungi native to planet Ompha are well known to the species that hail from it's homeworld, it's legitimately positive effects, ranging from the curing of infections to rapid regeneration from wounds, cannot simply be ignored. Dzifa Adwoa, a Ctesian native to the luminescent world, had always buried herself into the study of these medicinal properties, combining various types and preparing them in new ways to create various (hopefully) beneficial effects. Thus, when offered the chance to travel further across the Galaxy to discover new Flora with which to potentially learn from and create new, never-before-seen hybrids, the intrepid Ctesian couldn't help but leap at the opportunity.

Given the dangers presented to non-Ctesians by the consumption of Ompha fungi, Dzifa's room is mostly off-limits to the rest of the crew, a rule she takes very seriously for all except her new reluctant "assistant", Buck Tomlin. When not holed up in her room/laboratory, Dzifa can often be found in the ship's common area, cheating profusely at card games and flirting with her all-too-serious assistant.
