| A cheerful and positive man with a pure heart! You can usually see him with a smile on his face as there are little things that can crush his spirits. Growing up alone in the city of greed (Ul'dah), life has been ever so challenging for him, but that has never stopped him from offering help to people in need, even if it meant sacrificing a lot of things in exchange. People always wondered why the man even tried offering help to others, seeing how often Qumi'a's kindness would get abused from strangers, however he is more aware of this than anyone else, and yet it still has not stopped him or broke his spirits - he was always ready to jump headfirst for somebody else's sake. A man warm as the Sun that gently touches the cheek, filled with emotions and willpower so strong that for many is almost impossible to not get influenced by it, his overwhelming amount of positivity is something that radiates where ever he goes. Regardless, you shouldn't try pushing your luck with him. While he is an absolute sweetheart, he is more than capable of fighting off quite a lot of enemies almost effortlessly. He is a Warrior of Light in all but name. ☀ |

Upon first laying his eyes on R'natih, the man fell in love almost instantly, without even realizing it. His rather energetic attitude brings Qumi'a great joy, and he absolutely loves listening to him talk about almost anything.

B A C K S T O R Y:
Ever since Qumi'a was born, his mother taught him to be kind to everyone, no matter who the person is, because no matter what, in the end, you never know what those people have been through. His father wasn't around as much due to at the time being overwhelmed with work, doing multiple jobs since Qumi'a's family wasn't exactly the most fortunate financially wise. While that was originally their history, his mother thought her husband had been doing this the entire time, but the truth was more complicated than that.
Little time after the Calamity hit, she had gotten a terrible illness - one that wasn’t exactly curable by the medicine that’s most commonly available on the market, and special treatments were not something Qumi’a’s family could afford at the moment. Knowing this, the young boy would make the plan of helping his father out with any jobs that he could, and while a lot of people around him would tell him that he’s too young, he would immediately shake his head and continue working regardless. Finally, they were able to afford the treatments necessary for his mother, but that would only last for so long before, somehow, the money would come in less and less. At first Qumi’a dismissed it as his parents needing it for something personal and important, but after a little while the situation only got more dire. The money would disappear more and more and finally, Qumi’a began to truly question it - He was taught money management by both of his parents, as they were both good at handling these things when they were too poor to afford even the basic necessities, so what exactly was happening, he wondered.
One night when he was too anxious to sleep, he heard a noise. Getting up from his bed as quietly as possible, he noticed that his father was getting out of the house, and decided to follow him. After seeing what he was doing, he finally learned where the money was disappearing to, and it was nowhere else than the Gold Saucer - His father, known to be the best at handling stressful financial situations, was seen slowly getting more drunk and spending all of his gil away for some cheap amusement. Even the money that Qumi'a earned was being used up.
The young boy wasn’t sure what he was feeling. Anger? Sadness? Despair? Perhaps it was a mixture, but he could not tell. Tempted to run and tell his mother everything, he instead decided to further contemplate before making a decision and…While he hated this, he decided to not tell her anything about it. While he couldn’t have known if the circumstances would have been better if he said something, he felt something was different about his father. He felt more distant - like something was stripped away from him and who he was that Qumi’a knew and loved. He would spend much of his time working harder and harder, trying to make ends meet even though he was too young and inexperienced to do much of the chores and jobs that his father was supposed to be responsible for. Nothing stopped him from continuously trying, and spending the little bit of time he had left with his mother before she, in the end, passed away.
She was the one who taught him many things - Cooking, first aid, even supported Qumi’a’s adventurous side and urged him to always ask questions and always strive to learn more about the world, and to love it unconditionally. She even taught him basic combat that he later developed into something truly special, making him one of the most unique fighters found on Etherys. All of those things are something he treasures deeply even today, and while he did not forgive his father for behaving the way he did, after many years he began to slowly understand his reasonings - his despair after the Calamity. Friends and family lost, seeing so much destruction and something that could only be described as “Hell” almost on a daily basis perhaps was too much for somebody like him, and he wanted to shield those around him from it, so he never spoke anything of it - Until it started to eat at him to the point where he couldn’t fight it anymore, and gave in. It was the one thing that would create hatred in Qumi’a’s heart, and with time he learned to better deal with it and to accept that it wasn’t a simple black and white situation. After his mother’s passing, he immediately moved away and started a lone life in Ul’dah. He offered himself to anyone in need. He dedicated himself to exercising and finding jobs that required hunting down beasts, slowly learning to better his reflexes and his strength. Life was tough, especially for a kid without parents who was living in a city full of greed. His skills were eventually noticed, and he was able to join various guilds and slowly build up his reputation. As someone who is extremely charismatic and social, Qumi’a fairly quickly gained trust from others, most holding him in extremely high regard, praising him for his trustworthiness and efficiency.
