Once snow has melt, in a grove of the fallen sinner, an angel will wield animalistic instinct in the name of holy retribution. A sarcophacus of stone can only hold its prisoner for so long, she awaits to feed, for nature has starved her soul.
ast out of heaven, for her acts against God, Cassiel is an angel who previously served with diligent devotion. She was known to be the angel who was responsible for delivering souls to heaven's gates, and hell's doorstep. After dedicating herself to this task for millenia, Cassiel began to grow sympathetic for those who pleaded for their lives. She especially favored one mortal, a man she fell in love with after noticing his acts of kindness amongst a world of cruelty. Cassiel intentionally delayed the man's death, hiding him from the watchful eyes of heaven until it was finally noticed by her fellow angels. Cassiel pleaded for his life, claiming he didn't deserve an eternity of suffering. Cassiel was unsuccessful in this. As punishment for her betrayal, Cassiel was cursed to be encased within a stone prison, doomed to hunt the souls of sinners once a year, becoming a twisted monster of the beautiful angel she once was.

Made of stone, Cassiel's coffin is a four-winged statue depicting who she was before she had to be cast down from heaven and thrusted into her punishment. A piece of ivy forms a makeshift halo where hers once was, possibly placed there by a fellow angel who pitied the outcome she was doomed to accept. Cassiel has never been seen in the monstrous form she takes while free, as none have lived to fully describe the being. The only thing a rare survivor remembers is the sight of flesh and large canines that flashed within the dark.

- Cassiel is named after the angel of solitude and tears.
- Once free to roam for one day of the year, Cassiel's stone will break, giving way to a hellish beast made of the flesh of those she's killed. It's theorized she's trying to build back herself to the point she once was as an angel.
- There's a group dedicated to tracking down Cassiel, as she's made herself known as a very dangerous, but intriguing cryptic of sorts.
- Occasionally, locals to the garden she's trapped within leave gifts for Cassiel, who seems to skip past those who've shown her kindness when she's awake, implying she's consious during the time she has to wait to move once more.
- Once the stone breaks, it's said you can see tears falling from her eyes before she takes her victim's life.
- There's forums online, including spotty, blurry 'found-footage' of Cassiel.
- After the rare chance Cassiel's statue is vandalised, the grafiti seems to magically disappear.
