chiyo is a 16 year old girl who suffers from her own delusional thoughts and the belief that she is not alive like the rest of her peers

chiyo suffers from cotard's syndrome (walking corpse syndrome), a mental disorder where one believes that they are actually dead
her belief stems from an incident when she was young

when chiyo was young, she got hit by a train. it was a bloody incident. after being rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead
due to some sort of miracle though, she made it out alive. upon reading her official death papers, she became alarmed
she wasn't quite able to believe she was alive anymore. in her mind, she was dead

chiyo's real parents are under the assumption that their daughter is dead, so chiyo was adopted
her new family noticed her dull personality and her not acting quite like the other children, so she was sent to therapy

chiyo's therapist prescribes her with medicines to take
when on her medicine, chiyo sees a brighter and more colorful world. her magical world.
