Arthur was abandoned by his parents and taken in by a church in the area. The church, believing supernatural beings were impure, did what they thought they had to do, which was remove any feature that would make him look like a Tiefling (his horns, tail, and many bodily scales). They also taught him from a young age that he was born a sin, and that he had to perform a monthly ritual to keep his infernal abilities at bay. He grew up in this toxic environment of being hated and hating himself and soon was chosen by the former exorcist to be his apprentice. Through these practices, he was taught to assassin and torture magical beings.
