Gwen was Kame's second golem he desperately crafted because he needed someone to help him with gathering. When Gwen came to life, Kame taught her the different types of herbs and how to differentiate patterns. He gave her a book to study and she was fascinated with the plants, but Gwen was more interested in the rare shiny plants.

On Gwen’s first trip, she got carried away and got lost and with her small structure Kame had a hard time finding her. Nuriel was sent to search for her with his little snow minions. With the snow they can leave a trail to cover their tracks. Nuriel did finally manage to find her reaching for a rare flower; when she got it, she slipped and fell. Just then, Nuriel was able to summon enough snow below her to break her fall. Thus became the friendship between the golems.
