Alpha Pegasi, or Markab, is one of the four stars of the square of Pegasus. Though she has the Alpha designation, she's merely the third brightest from the sector center. Despite this, she's a sort of co-leader with Scheat. Both are respected by the younger stars of Pegasus... though Scheat usually defaults to Markab when it comes to disciplining the younger stars.
For many outside of Pegasus, Markab was the one Pegasus star they would encounter as she was the most likely to represent the constellation at any meetings or events, sometimes accompanied by Scheat. Markab also was very close to some stars outside the constellation, like Sheratan of Aries. Markab was seen by many outsiders as the calm and collected counterpart of the fiery Scheat, but is known by the younger Pegasus stars as the one you never want to be on the bad side of. While she is indeed calm, there's an intenseness lying under the surface that makes her much scarier than Scheat when crossed.
Markab used to lead a trio of troublemakers with Scheat and Matar while still on the main sequence, often being the heart of the team to keep them all focused, wrangling the overzealous Scheat and the coldhearted Matar to work together. As they've evolved off the main sequence, Markab has developed a rapid rotation and hair trigger temper occasionally. The only one she allows to see her at her worst is Scheat, who she trusts above all others.
(slightly redesigning the human form by likely adding wings, the pegasus form stays the same tho!)
