Maybe I can help more Pokemon this way!

It's not really known where Wind-Up came from, nor how it came to be what it is. But most Pokemon that live in Havenner Town know of the infamous Wandering Doll, tip-tapping across the ground at fast speeds for what seems to be no reason. However, what they may not know is that Wind-Up actually has a sort of built-in sense when someone is in need of comfort. The radius of this sense is unknown at this time, but there have been times where someone sees Wind-Up in Havenner Town for a time, and then all of a sudden it's beelining it to the direction of the Tides of the Moon settlement for who-knows-why.

Wind-Up's story is actually quite a sad one when he chooses to tell it. Built by an elderly Pokemon to take care of other Pokemon's emotions, when his creator passed away there wasn't anyone near him to comfort, and so he went out wandering until he found himself near the town and the settlement, in which his (as he calls it) Empathy Sensor went off immediately. His programmed instinct was to get there as fast as possible and help fix the problem using both his wide range of knowledge and his comfort protocol (which is just what he calls "taking care of others" by snuggling or playing with them). He's not an unwelcome face thankfully, and he adores being able to help, it is just brought into question whether or not he should be dashing all about or if he should make his own comfort station somewhere.

It took a lot of time to be able to be more open and vulnerable with those it comforts. Wind-Up was never very good at expressing his own emotions due to being built to take care of others, but he knew he had his own, he just never learned how to come to terms with them. However, as it became more and more comfortable with others, it began to learn and adjust to the kinds of emotions and comfort other Pokemon were able to relax with, and it realized it needed the same thing. It hadn't even truly come to terms with the passing of its creator and it realized, after assisting with several grieving Pokemon, that that's what it needed- to grieve.

So, Wind-Up set his current duties aside to sit alone and think about and reminisce about his creator. As he did, he felt his vision go blurry and realized that he was crying. He didn't even know he could do that and yet here he was, crying over the death of his creator- his parent. He let himself cry, and cry, and cry some more, until he no longer could. He wiped his face, and for the first time in forever, he let himself be sad. Knowing he could be sad and it was okay, he felt a warmth he'd never felt before. Through his bleary vision he saw a glowing light envelope him from his chest, and he felt himself evolve, which he didn't think he could do being a creation. However, with the soul of a Pokemon, anything could happen, so he embraced his new Bladeon form as the light dissipated. He felt himself gain more knowledge on certain aspects of emotions after experiencing his own for the first time, so he got to his feet, much lighter, and made his way to the clinic to speak to Serenity.

It didn't take much to convince the Celebi that he could be a therapist or emotional support Pokemon, and from then on, instead of running around comforting whoever he picked up with his sensors, he would settle in the clinic, waiting for Pokemon who needed comfort or advice to come and talk with him.
