Vela

Vela... my first official OC with a backstory. She brings back a lot of memories for me.

Vela was redesigned so many times, I've lost count now XD But her wolf features and dark palette have survived all of her designs (well, until her newest design) owob Many years ago, when I was designing Vela, I was obsessed with midnight and flower themes (still am... MoonliqhtRose :>). Naturally, Vela's design reflected that: wolf ears/tails and moonflowers. She also got double wings, which is my personal favorite design element. My friend MalloryFox had a significant hand in her design and backstory, and we spent so many days going back and forth on Vela. At one point, she had galaxy hair, which stayed until I decided to make her just a midnight theme. I discovered what dA was at this time too, and the countless designs there inspired me furthur!

I think Vela may be considered a 'mary sue' character (countless powers, strengths, can speak with animals...). I knew it at the time, but felt that it was fine x'D Unless you're role playing, I don't see anything wrong with having the most awesome character ever! But I also countered this by giving her a pretty sad backstory. In short: she was a goddess, got casted out for some evil deed, and now must redeem herself.
