Backstory

Calla is the youngest of four. she was born very weak with several complications. This led to her entire family being quite cautious with her as well as protective of her. Her father more so than anyone. She's always had a want for adventure but her family's worries and concerns often stop her before she could do much. 

Growing up deaf, she had a difficult time communicating with others as well as most akis could. with her weak immune system and vulnerability in general, going out had its risks. This led to her mainly sticking around family at home for a long time. 

as years passed on she began to hate being protected from the outside world. she knew her family meant well, but she couldn't stand being so dependent on others and eventually moved out on her own. 

She eventually found a career in glassmaking! she now spends her days in a little forge in an old trading town near a port creating selling beautiful stained glass pieces, glass sculptures, glassware, and all sorts of shiny glass merchandise. (the fishermen and traders adore her) Though she doesn't speak much and most akis don't know sign language, she still finds a way to communicate with them. (she has little notebooks and speech/response cards that she uses for customers.
