Six years of experience and official training (including the year he enlisted.). Has had previous unofficial training conducted by his father who was in the US Army. Excellent Marksman and a skilled sniper, prefers to use his hands when fighting up close and personal. Well trained in hand to hand combat, just as deadly up close with a knife as he is far away with a rifle.

Stubborn when he feels he needs to be, not afraid to stand up to authority but knows when to respect his superiors. Can and will fight despite injury, if he can still shoot he will still fight. Isn’t afraid to put himself in danger, especially when it comes to helping or protecting others.  Intelligent, stealthy, gets the job done.

Personality:

Caring, kindhearted, protective when need be. Off duty, he is a very quiet and reserved person until he is comfortable enough with someone. Even then, he isn’t much of a talker. Doesn’t speak much about his past or family. Respectful, especially when it comes to people of higher rank than him. Level headed, smart, calm. He is very big on protecting those that cannot protect themselves, going out of his way and even putting himself in danger in order to help and protect civilians caught in things they shouldn’t be in. Civilians before himself, always. Has a moral code, won’t participate in interrogations unless absolutely necessary. Not a big fan of unfair fights or being taken advantage of when at a disadvantage and will often give others a taste of their own medicine when fighting. On duty, he comes off as a different person. People say that it's almost like seeing a switch flip whenever he is on field and needs to get a job done. Hard working to a fault, no nonsense where nonsense doesn’t belong (but doesn’t mind a bit of banter with those he’s comfortable with), and straight to the point. He has a sharp focus that hardly ever wavers, becoming one of his targets is the last thing someone will do. His name becomes ironic. He will fight until he is physically incapable of doing so and won’t ever back down easily. Doesn’t take well to failing. He does everything he puts his mind to and that includes tracking down someone when he needs to.

Backstory:

Dove comes from a family of Veterans. His father was in the Army and before him his grandfather was in the Navy, where he met his grandmother who was a combat medic at the time. Dove lived alone with his mother and sister for most of his childhood until his sister eventually moved out. When it became just him and his mother, his mother had fallen terminally ill. The rest of his childhood moving forward was occupied with him needing to care for his mother on top of his schoolwork. By the time he was sixteen, his father comes home. They both continue to care for his mother until his father eventually convinces him to join the military. At 17, he loses his mother, and not long after turning 18 he finally enlists to be a Marine. He would eventually lose his father at 19.

 The Name:

Dove’s call sign started as an insult when he first joined the Marines. He was the youngest in his unit and clearly wasn’t prepared for the military life, not even being able to pull the trigger the first few months into joining. The older members of his unit would say that he was a dove amongst wolves, mocking him for his innocence and soft personality. It eventually became such a common name for him that it became a nickname, even after he had gained the respect of the people who once mocked him. Over time, the meaning behind it changed. Dove was soon called that because of how doves resembled peace and freedom rather than the name being an insult to his abilities. It was adopted as his call sign a few years later, people no longer calling him a dove amongst wolves, but rather joking that a dead dove should be seen as an omen.

Hobbies:

Dove is a very artsy person and always has been. Although he likes to keep his artistic skills to himself, he can sometimes be caught drawing or mindlessly doodling. Over the years he had practiced his art skills as it was one of the few things that took his mind off everything and he had become quite good at what he does. Despite this, he rarely shows anyone what he creates. It’s one of the many things he tries to keep to himself. Prefers pencil and paper, but tries different ways of making art when he’s able to. 

Headcanons/Trivia:

Dove would have probably been a history major if he had ever gone to college. His best subject in school was most likely history. Go ahead, ask him a history question, do it. | He keeps his fathers dog tag on him for moral support. | He probably would have taken up gymnastics at some point during his school years.

Trivia:

Dove is fluent in Spanish, he just… forgets to tell people sometimes until he says something in Spanish unexpectedly. | Dove is an avid music listener and listens to music most when he’s drawing or doing a task he knows will take him a while. He shares music taste with both of his parents, rock being one of his favorite genres. Don’t let it fool you though, he IS still listening.
