"Bub" (any/all)
Species: The Gumball Machine
Danger level: 0%
Description:
Bub is a rare encounter on any moon. He is a peaceful creature and will not attack the player regardless of attempts to harm. If found, he will lean his head/neck down and offer the player a spin of his coin mechanism and will pop out an item at random. These items have a minimum worth of 50 and upper limit of 210. Average item worth is about 80 scrap.
He will respond to any variation of the phrase 'gumball machine'; ie Gum, Gummy, Bubble, Machine, etc. The original entity name was set in the system as "The Gumball Machine" but some employees have taken to attempting to befriend him with items [See 'More' Subsection 1]. He's been seen to reply to other terms such as: Gamble, Roulette, and others.
-----------------------------
Appearance:
Bub is a large entity nearing the same head height as the Bracken. Its body is gray with an almost rubbery, blubber type feeling according to those who have interacted with it. It has feet that are seemingly paw shaped and bottom heavy with small paw pads on the toes and heel akin to a feline.
The entity wears a medallion-like object around a collar on its neck. It has not been seen without this and is assumed to be part of its being. Attached to the neck is a coin slot and an opening that are directly tunneled to the head space. Those who have stuck their hand in the cavity have noticed a metal feeling plate covering any deeper entry. Its head is made of thick glass with balls that roll around inside as it moves. These balls slowly deplete until entities rebirth cycle. [See 'More' Biology Study Results].

BIOLOGY STUDY RESULTS:
The reproduction cycle of this entity is entirely unnatural and has not been fully studied. The cycle consists of origin, end of days, rebirth, death, and growth. The origin of the species is unknown and unable to be reproduced; it is speculated that it formed off of an earth feline in some regard due to specific charateristics of the body but the form has evolved so far beyond this that it is unable to be confirmed.
The end of days is able to be noticed due to the low amount of 'gum' inside of the entity's head. Once the being is down to an average of 10 gumballs, it will begin its rebirth cycle. There is no key differences in the end of days phase except longer stares and glances at players, likely due to examining to see a suitable fit for the next of kin. This is then followed by the rebirth; the rebirth is a passing on of the DNA through a copy of the original. During the last 10 or so gumballs, the entity will eventually bestoy the employee with a baby Gumball Machine entity. This creature is very chubby, notably squishy and rubbery, and has the same size head as the adult. The head size will never change during the entity's lifespan. It is currently ILLEGAL to seperate a baby from it's first known contact as the baby will immediately latch onto subject as a guide and support figure. The original entity will take no qualms in the subject leaving with the child and will infact, not regard it as an entity at all likely due to the sharing of the DNA.
The death of the original machine comes at the end of its gumball count. After the final spin of the coin mechanism, the final gumball does not contain scrap, but rather the creature will burst into a ball of light and be turned into a chess sized piece of metal shaped after the entity. Any noticable markings [ie scars, items] will be represented as the body was in its final state. These figures sell for 1 scrap and many employees seek to collect them as they're thought to brought luck. The next of kin of the entity will also treat an employee kinder if it is presented to them. Once the past entity dies, the baby begins to grow. It's body will fill out and its neck in particular will gain mass quite fast. Once the baby believes itself to be ready to go, it will start to wander its area until released onto a proper moon. From there, it will go along on its way and continue the cycle.

SUBSECTIONS:
SECTION 1: Employees attempting to befriend Bub have noticed a liking of items such as the candy. This is a easy way to trade in a low worth item for a potentially quadruple+ worth item as it will also likely give the employee a second turn of the coin mechanism. This is not guaranteed but noted to be highly common.
SECTION 2: PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING. Spinning the coin mechanism WILL attract noise sensitive monsters! Following the entity to a safer spot is recommended on more advanced moons.

Take note of ['More' Subsection 1 and 2] when interacting with entity.
-----------------------------
Relationship type: acquaintance
Description:
Sigurd and Bub have met on a few occasions, however Bub was not as fully grown as their current iteration. While Sigurd got more paranoid towards the end of life, the two would no longer interact as Sigurd's jittery actions would often make Bub highly cautious of interactions while Sigurd was curious about the low amount of gum left in Bub but was too paranoid to continue to interact as there was no idea of what would happen due to Bub's biology yet.
-----------------------------
Relationship type: friends
Description:
Sessi and Bub are the closest to the concept of 'friends' to the entity. This is the second iteration of the entity that Sessi knows and their trust has been built even further than the previous. The employee often brings Bub treats [See 'More' Subsection 1] with no desires in return which Bub likes.
-----------------------------
Relationship type: neutral?
Description:
Bub has been on 71-Gordion once before with Sigurd and his behavior was noted to be highly anxious and clearly distressed. The company blames this on removing the entity from the planet it was on but previous to the landing, Bub was at average vitals before spiking when the doors opened and actively scrambling to the back of the ship when scrap was retrieved by Jeb at the desk.
NOTE: TAKING BUB OFF PLANETS IS HIGHLY FORBIDDEN. INJECTING, GASSING, SEDATING, OR OTHER MEANS OF CONTROL TOWARDS THE ENTITY WILL GET YOU FIRED IMMEDIATELY.
-----------------------------
Relationship type: friends
Description:
Bub and Pop are creatures that reside in the same 'friendly and useful' vein of entities. The two entities seem to be friendly towards each other, however with both of their rarity, it is extremely hard to see them both at the same moon. Those who have managed to do so have noted that Bub will often stand over Pop like a protective caretaker.
