Once the retainer and only companion of a prominent noble's son, Klaus was an orphan only spared a life on the streets by the family to serve their son. However, Klaus did not mind, as the two were very close. However, when the son of the nobles confessed his feelings for him, Klaus knew he could not reciprocate as his retainer, and left the charge immediately, despite the fact he loved him as well. Entering seclusion, yet watching over the noble from the shadows, he was approached in dreams by a Goddess, Lyris - who showed him the true nature of the family's heads. They were pedophiles, tormenting others through blackmail. Klaus knew he had to save his friend one last time, and murdered the horrendous nobles. However, his former charge saw him, and confronted him. Klaus could not bring to tell him the truth about his parents, and left for good. Thereupon, he became a bounty hunter, hunting pedophiles with his imposing stature, and would parade around town, covered in the blood of his bounties. People who saw him often said he looked like a true "Angel of Death".
