Kanoa is a beautiful young mermaid who lived a sheltered life off by an uninhabited island with her family. A cheery and happy girl who likes to spend her days sunbathing and chasing fish around in a game of tag. It's doubtful you'll find anyone more cheery than her in all the 7 seas. Considered a beauty with long flowing and wavy hair that reaches her waist. She has a pink sort of magenta color tail with scales that sparkle underwater. With purple eyes filled with curiosity and beauty marks all over her skin shes sure to catch the eye of onlookers.

A Mermaid's Kiss has a lot of magical properties and often called Shared Breath due to the fact that the power is given through a kiss. This allows the mermaid to learn any spoken language the recipient of the kiss knows. The recipient of the kiss can also gain the ability to breathe underwater for the whole time they're underwater, going back to normal after surfacing.

Merfolk have the innate ability to manipulate the ocean to their will. Kanoa is no different, though not as talented as others in her community. She can manipulate large amounts of seawater to help her. By either becoming something of a weapon or used for defense. Since she's not as talented as other most of the time she needs to move her hand along with the water to help concentrate on where it's going and what it's doing otherwise it will disperse.

All Merfolk are gifted with beautiful melodious voices. They appear to be intertangled with magic because whenever merfolk sings the humans in the vicinity become affected. The Siren's Song is known for bewitching human men and women, drawing them near the singing merfolk, in a haze that seem unbreakable until the singing has stopped. This will affect humans no matter what language the merfolk are singing in and there doesn't seem to to be a way for merfolk to sing in a way that won't affect humans through magic.

Merfolk have the ability to become human temporarily through the help of an item. Aquamarine is a magically charged gem that is connected to the ocean. When aquamarine touches a merfolk's skin their tails become a pair of legs. The legs are only present while the aquamarine is touching their skin. The magic wears off about 10 minutes after the removal of the gem from the skin and that the legs would form a tail again. Merfolk could live the rest of their lives as a human with aquamarine stones.

Kanoa was born with amental map of a God's treasure, as marked by her 'X' shaped scar on her chest. This mental map comes in the form of always knowing the genereal direction to head to go towards the treasure, no matter where she is. The feeling gros stronger as does this pull and need to find it the closer the mermaid gets to the treasure.
