While the Relic isn't the oldest puppet in Scrapville by any stretch, it is the oldest used in recorded media. A strange, enormous silverfish/scorpion hybrid, it would have been seen after the closing credits of The World Below (a silent movie about giant bugs), devouring the very film it was recorded on. This turned out to be eerily prophetic, as its scene eventually rotted away on the cutting room floor. Nobody's sure why it was deleted. Some say audiences fainted after seeing it, others claim that several puppeteers and a cameraman died trying to control the massive puppet, and still others opt for the easy explanation: they just couldn't get the scene to work. Whatever the reason, Relic's reason for existence was gone, and since it proved too large and unwieldy to transport, it was simply left on the floor of the warehouse where the film was recorded. After decades collecting dust, it was finally found by Mayor Fuzzy. The poor guy really wants friends, but isn't sure anyone could bring themselves to love it, besides its found family. It and the Screamer have a very strong bond, and together, the two watch over Shy Smog Papyo (who's speculated to be semi-based on Rel).
