backstory

Zena's entire family have always been members of the guild Sabertooth. Ever since the guild was created, the Oakeshield family have been a part of it. Zena loves the members of the guild just as much as her own family, as they are indeed a part of it.

Sadly, both of her parents were told to leave once the new guild master, Jiemma, was chosen as he decided that they were not strong enough to be a part of the mighty Sabertooth. Luckily, Zena was an exception to this, as he saw great potential for power in her. Zena's parents were okay with this and went about their life, still living in the town, but taking up different jobs. They decided it was best to quit being mages all together. After a few years, they had another daughter, named Zade, who looks up to Zena with all of her heart.

Every now and again, Zena will visit her family, in-between jobs and when she has a spare couple of hours. Her parents enjoy seeing their daughter, always gushing about how proud they are of her and how strong she's become over the years. The most common thing that they do together is go out for a picnic in their local park. Sometimes Zena will even perform little tricks with her magic for her little sister.

Lullaby arc

This is the very first arc where Zena is officially introduced. She is a reserve member in the Sabertooth team that competes in the Grand Magic Games. She briefly stands in for Rufus during the first day as he was still on a job during this time.

Due to this, Zena competed in the very first game, 'Hidden'. Using her lightning magic made it very easy for her to zip around the fake town and attack her opponents without them even being able to retaliate.

As the game was about to come to an end, she quickly made her way to the very top of a building and performed one of her ultimate moves, "Lightning Devil Current Stream", effectively eliminating every other competitor in the game, leading Sabertooth to earn first place immediately. Her friend Sting gave her a lot of praise, as he was proud of her for winning.

After this, Rufus arrives and takes his place as the actual member of the team, and Zena returns to the guild as her job as 'reserve member' as been completed. Even though she knew it was only for a single game, she took great pride in being able to compete for her guild.
