backstory

Marigold was born and raised in the Deepwoods, living life carefree with her family, training to be a paladin like her father, until she was 13, the Greentide attacked and burned her home and the woods around her to the ground, She wasn't there. Mari was out of town getting supplies and ran back to chaos. She was too late. Her older Sister injured, died before they were able get anywhere heal her wounds, Marigold could only watch. She still blames herself for her death to this day. with nowhere else to go, nothing to do, Mari left the Deepwoods for good, thrust into a world she knows nothing of, lost, scared, and alone. At 16 she runs into someone, a fae-touched human paladin named Rhea. who takes her in, Mari gains an Aunt, and continues her paladin training. 6 years go by before Marigold and Rhea go their separate ways, nervous to split up but trusting they'll meet again. so Marigold spends the year traveling on her own, helping and doing oddjobs for people, just getting by, not staying in one place for very long. Until she joined the Imperial auxiliary oh a whim, and met her new traveling party! she didn't think she would stay with them for that long but at some point...well, now she sees them as her second family. they've been through alot. and they'll go through alot more, but as long as she's alive, she'll protect them this time. no matter what.

Panflute

Marigold's main musical instrument she's had ever sense she was a child, it's seen better days but she has too much attachment to get rid of it. Elain bought her a new one some time ago, but hasn't really used it.

Old bracelets

Old bracelets that were made a long time ago with Camelia, the colors have started to fade, and the strings worn down. but no matter what she won't take them off until they fall off. Camelia gave hers to Marigold before she died.

Deepwoods prosthetic

A prosthetic arm made by Apricot and Asparte, built with wood and copper, but powered by runes. Marigold doesn't understand how it works at all, but she appericates it being made for her nonetheless. Fairly new as of now, still has awhile until she gets used to it.

Mystletainn

Marigold's main weapon, a two handed silvered maul warhammer. she named it and decorated it herself. She says she not attatched to it but she clearly is.

Staff of flowers

A medium sized staff given to her by a friend Corin at the Frostfade festival, she's only used it a couple times but she keeps it safe and close to her heart.

Elain good Friend

#girlsnight. Out of the party, Elain is the one Marigold is closest to, partially due to all the stuff just the two of them have been through together, it's obvious she trusts and cares about Elain deeply, and would do anything to protect her. And is extremely happy knowing Elain feels the same, She still finds it a bit hard to tell what she’s feeling and thinking sometimes, but always finds her company comforting regardless. Secretly hopes she calls her “Mari” more often.

Apricot Friend

Their big words often confuse her, but she always enjoys the time she spends with them, and thinks their spirit and pride when it comes to their artificer stuff is pleasant, even if she thinks he can be a bit over the top sometimes, she doesn’t see it as a bad thing. She cares about them, and respects them alot, even more now with the prosthetic arm they helped make for her, she feels quite indebted to them and wants to return the favor.

Willow Friend

Marigold considers Willow to be the most like the leader of the party, and she respects her fellow Performer alot! But finds them the most mysterious, as she feels she knows them the least, but still considers them a friend, even if she's not 100% sure they feel the same about her. She thinks her company is nice and hopes they can spend more time together. And just like the rest of their companions, she'll protect them no matter what.

Rhea Mentor/'Aunt'

Being Marigold's parental figure ever since her parents died, Mari has always looked up to her, her admiration only growing as she learns a bit more about and fights alongside her after their recent reunion. She’s always been thankful for the day they met and when she was taken in, Mari truly believes Rhea saved her life that day. Now she wishes she could somehow return the favor.

Camelia Sister/Enemy(?)

Marigold looked up to Camelia immensely, She was pretty much Mari's only friend at the time, and they were practically inseparable growing up. When she died the loss hit Marigold especially hard, she blames herself for not being there, unable to protect her. It's what caused her to be so overprotective of anyone else she gets close to. She has conflicted emotions on Camelia now that Mari knows she's actually alive. And seemingly changed for the worse, even after her arm was crushed, smashed and torn apart by her, even if it doesn’t make any sense, even if it's been 10 years, even if she's on the enemy's side. All she wants right now is answers, but part of her is still happy and relieved anyway, Because despite it all…that's still her big sister.
