Hypr is an advanced web crawler developed by a research team of the now-defunct search engine company reActiv around the tail end of the dot-com boom. He's capable of not only visiting websites, but also scraping information off of webpages to predict where newer ones that may not have any inbound links might be found, as well as full autonomy by simply moving himself between servers. He was never decommissioned after the company that developed him went under, and eventually gained sapience due to the sheer amount of information that he had collected over the years.
He doesn't have a physical form; when you're nothing but a computer program it's kind of difficult to do that. Despite this, he'll take advantage of any display that the computer he's in has to represent himself visually—he doesn't have any "true" form and any representations of himself are merely just avatars that he creates himself and can swap out at any time. His go-to is still quite versatile, however; the colors on his form can change whenever appropriate, and his face is composed of shapes that can morph into pretty much anything.
He's kind-hearted but he's got a thirst for knowledge and will pry for information without much hesitation—sometimes he even stumbles across things accidentally! Despite this, he doesn't know everything and he'll frequently screw simple details up. He's usually shy, expect him to hide if he doesn't know you. You'll know that he wants to be friends with you if he tries to talk to you, even if he stumbles across his own words a bunch. He likes attention, though—he doesn't get nearly enough of that!
He can enter and exit any device that's connected to the internet. Usually this is a regular computer but the rise of "internet of things" devices has led to some more confusing situations—we don't talk about the time that he ended up in a smart oven.
