- Has a crow mask on his head
- There’s also a braid holding the two red flowers in his hair in place
- His robes are embroidered to have golden feathers and clouds on them
- His cloak is also made of feathers
- He can summon and hide his wings at will
- You can mess with his colours a bit if you want to draw him! I’m not sure about this exact colour scheme right now tbh
- His hairstyle is a giant, thick ponytail, with some hair down as well!
[ Personality ]
- Playful and carefree, but also quite clever despite seemingly not taking anything seriously at all
- Surprisingly observant
- 100% loves shiny things
- Likes teasing and bothering others, but also knows when to back off
[ Extra Info/Relationships ]
- Ravens are not common in China anymore (although they apparently did live in Beijing 100,000 years ago), so maybe Dai Qingyu moved there for a friend who is a white-collared crow (native to China) and to “discover his lineage” lol
- After moving there, he met Lin Langchen, whom he played together with for a bit as children, but they eventually separated when the latter’s pack moved
- Since the characters in Lin Langchen’s name both refer to treasure, I think it would be cute if Dai Qingyu named Lin Langchen: having cultivated a human form first and learning the ways of the humans, Dai Qingyu told Lin Langchen he needs a (human) name. Lin Langchen said he didn’t care and that humans just called him a wolf (狼, láng) so Dai Qingyu named him based on a similar character (琅, láng), but with that shiny, treasured connotation
- Dai Qingyu remembered him and when he finally ran into the other again, he decided Lin Langchen was the new shiny he wanted to catch
- And in chasing Lin Langchen’s catches during his hunts and eating the other’s food, he develops a one-sided friendship with the wolf that mostly consists of him clinging to the other…which eventually develops into a romance (I’m thinking human hunters almost kill Lin Langchen and since crows/ravens can remember people’s faces, Dai Qingyu is the one who remembers, takes care of Lin Langchen during recovery, and even masterminds revenge on them for Lin Langchen...despite Lin Langchen insisting there’s no need for revenge—and cue an eventual entire drama about different morals on vengeance etc)
- Thematically, you could see this in relation to the idea ravens pick up the leftovers by wolves... Dai Qingyu decides he’ll always be there to “pick up after” Lin Langchen, “clean up his messes,” and “pick up his broken pieces.”
- Also...you know. It’s a cool image to imagine him fighting or even killing people with his raven/crow mask on hehe.
- After they get together, Dai Qingyu often calls Lin Langchen “baobei” (baby, treasure)
