Profile

Despite the stigmas about his clan, Tatsuya is rather “progressive” when compared to his relatives and the previous leaders. He has no doubt his ancestors frown upon him, but he doesn’t seem to care, in fact, he doesn’t seem to care about anything really. He’s never been particularly irked, and comes off as very apathetic and rather monotone, which makes him seem much more intimidating than he actually is. Tatsuya isn’t a careless man, however, there are a few things he will never tolerate.

  • Mocking his clan,
  • Mocking him,
  • And imprudent pricks who think they’re godly.

He very strongly believes that no matter their physical strength, everyone is the same on the inside. He hasn’t seen anyone prove that different, after all, the only people he’s ever known have been devout bootlickers chasing praise and higher ranks. He has no interest in getting to know people, especially due to his general categorization of people: they’re all sheep looking to be seen. He’s rather paranoid, despite not showing it very often, this is majorly due to the incident with his father. Lacking many social skills, Tatsuya isn’t very good at making casual conversation and was only taught how to act during meetings or negotiations, so he always sounds very formal and serious. He has tried to teach himself how to make small talk, but the topics are always serious or boring. He has a sense of humor, despite it all, but it’s rather unfunny to most. He laughs at things that aren’t humorous even in the slightest, some might even call it cruel: animals and people getting hurt, jokes about tragedies, and other distasteful things. This twisted humor comes from another personal belief of his; that everything goes around and is connected, so there’s no reason to grieve or cry about things—this belief pays slight homage to blood, in a sense that all life circulates and comes back again and again. He says: “People will always return to your life, it just depends if one can sense it.” This is partially owed to the premature death of his father, where he found comfort after being told sometimes your ancestors or loved ones would return as animals or plants. Out of fear, he keeps his walls high and stays alert all the time, he finds no need for a man like him to be emotional or open, the only thing he truly cares about is retaining the power his clan has and keeping order within it.

His morals are strong, and thankfully Tatsuya is a virtuous man who won’t hesitate to jump in and help someone, in this life or the next. Because of his younger age, most of his elders don’t understand the things he says, but he isn’t too bothered by it, as long as he gets what he’s saying he doesn’t mind.

Tatsuya retains the inherited grudge from all those millennia ago, and will always scorn those from the Kuragane clan. He finds them arrogant and disrespectful, and while he often at least attempts to understand other people, he can’t help but yawn and roll his eyes when the Kuragane speak.

When it comes to fighting, he tries to be as graceful and clean as possible, contrasting his own grizzly and morbid technique. While mostly using his just cursed technique in combat, he can’t help but use the special-grade cursed weapons and tools he has inherited, and often looks to find a way to incorporate them into his fighting style. He’s naturally fascinated by blood and perhaps unnaturally fascinated by death. This just contributes to his already unnerving persona, and though he often doesn’t show it, he does wish he had the fortune of meeting that rare type of person who is genuine and different, different from his loyal adversaries and admirers, that is.

He has very good manners, and knows how to present himself like his title; as the high and honorable leader of the Mizumono clan. If there’s one thing forever instilled into him by his mother, it is his behavior around others.

While very aware that he absolutely must produce an heir before he dies, he doesn’t know if he’d be a good father. Besides, he values love more than lineage, which conflicts not only with his view on the rest of the world but also with the beliefs of his clan. This makes it especially hard to find a partner, and while he has many arranged or offered options, he isn’t very fond of any of them. As he gets older, his advisors are getting more upset and pushing marriage on him harder and harder.

He expects people to understand his position and strength.

His favorite color is red (obviously), and his favorite animal is the red-crowned crane.

(Basically Kamo clan but in a different universe)
