Summary; The simplest way to describe Merle is that he desires companionship, but is afraid to leave himself vulnerable. His father was never in the picture, his mother passed away from illness far too young, and every connection he manages to make seems to only bring him pain later on.
Merle also just... fears people in general. It's difficult to gauge what each individual expects from him. He doesn't like how unpredictable others can be, the reading between the lines, and the capacity to be left hanging. He'd rather not participate in the game at all.

Attire is grunge/punk leaning, wears majority black clothing. Includes textures like leather, latex, mesh, etc. Garments are usually form-fitting or revealing in a way. Tends to expose his shoulders, arms, and occasionally his waist. His hair is windswept and messy, usually bleached and dyed green (*he grows out of this by his mid-late 20s). Footwear trends to boots.

Fun facts;
- He's a bit of a bad speller. Back in highschool, he would ask Junseo to proofread his essays.
- He doesn't even care for dyeing his hair; his friend just decided that it'd be fun one day, and Merle got compliments from his boyfriend about it.
- He got bullied a lot in school until he started retaliating.
- All of his piercings were done by Junseo - first in the less moldy bathroom between the pair (Merle's), then in a sanitized studio when Junseo got his job.
- He was a virgin until two years into his first serious relationship.
- Despite his reserved personality, he can be a thrill-seeker.
Relationships;
[Junseo ♡♡♡♡♡]: Merle's highschool sweetheart, turned fiance. As long as Merle has him, it's okay; he could handle being dirt-poor, doing dubious work, and the unyielding pressure of every day. He doesn't want the luxury cars, diamonds, nor large-scale gestures that his peers do... he just needs to be reminded by the other that everything will be alright.
[Acai ♡♡♡♡]: Merle's childhood friend. Although they've grown into very different people, she'll always have a spot within his heart. Acai can be harsh, but it's easy to see that she wants good things for him in life.
[Dita ♡♡♡]: Who doesn't like Dita, honestly? They might seem like total opposites, but they get along well.
[Dahlia ♡♡]: It's true that Dahlia's only ever been nice to him, but... she freaks Merle out a little bit. However, he finds her relationship with Acai amusing.
[Ken ♡]: Merle doesn't like him. Sorry. He can have the empathy to recognize that Ken's a deeply troubled person, and yet that won't make him willingly be around the guy. Their only connection to each other is through Junseo.
