Lyra

lyra wanted to become a field researcher and go on adventures bc she grew up super sheltered in a remote elven village. but she couldn't afford to do that by herself so she became like a for hire healer. well she gets recruited by an adventurer party and they go on travels for years. she doesn't really like humans that much but she comes to care for her companions as they bond. she even falls in love with the party leader. they eventually decide to go their separate ways and settle down bc the life of an adventurer is pretty short for most. he asks her to join him, she thinks that they're going to get married. then they get to the town and things are going well but she notices when the adventurer bumps into his childhood friend, they have eerily similar hair and eye color.

he had previously told her she'd look good with short hair and it'd be more practical anyways so she kept it short. the childhood friend was the reason he became an adventurer and the one that got away. but he couldn't ever pursue her because she was betrothed. BUT she was recently widowed when they arrived in town. he begins to emotionally cheat on lyra and always take the side of the childhood friend. eventually, she gets tired of the back and forth and being treated like a cheap replacement for his first love. she snaps and asks him to choose between the childhood friend or her, and he chooses the childhood friend. she leaves town because she can't handle seeing their faces and joins another guild.

she swears up and down that she will never let herself get hurt like that again. so she makes a no romance rule for herself. she ends up hooking up with a lot of her guildmates and other townspeople and gets a bad reputation because of it. she kind of tries to pretend people making fun of her about it doesn't bother her and laughs it off. but deep down its eating her alive and develops a deep hatred of others and spends more and more time out in the woods. she eventually develops a friendship with two of her eccentric researcher buddies who are also complete outcasts. i might give her an orc boyfriend later on too idk yet lol.
