Kailani

Kailani is a merfolk that the children of the Light Sea tell one another to scare them, a ravenous monster that lures merfolk into the deep sea. Whilst that is true, what she does with them depends on the storyteller. To some, she kills them; others, she drives them insane and to a few, it is rumored that she eats them. Nobody knows Kailani's true origins and what she does with the merfolk she lures with her soft voice and bright light. They all know to fear her.
