TBN insect species

An insectoid species I made for an AU of something else. I thought I'd upload the design here. 

The species have very poor eyesight and can only distinguish detail at close range. Instead, horns on their head act sort of like an antennae, and can detect things like cardinal direction, ambient temperature, wind speed, and distance to the nearest of their own species. It also helps regulate temperature, so if something happens to it the whole creature is in danger of overheating on top of losing all sense of direction.

They dwell in the desert and live in small family groups far away from each other; large settlements aren't really a thing. They can get extremely territorial since food is scarce where they live, but they are hospitable (if terse) toward visitors so long as they do not mean harm (these guys are good at sensing intent).

Their language consists of buzzing and clicks. They look scarier and meaner than they are.
